Ive reviewed over 70 password managers in the past. I've been using various versions of SplashDATA SplashID for about a decade now. We have been very patient over the past year, but numerous bugs, apathetic and inadequate support, and repeated instances of extended service interruptions have forced me to conclude that this is no longer a viable product for us. I know I do.Due to lack of reliability for the SplashID Safe TEAM product, our organization will be moving to another product for Secure Password Management. An addition to your key chain that provides a lifetime of avoided headaches. The more you use SplashID the more you will wonder how you ever lived without it. SplashID Key Safe secures your passwords on a USB key for use on any PC or Mac. I would highly recommend the thirty-day trial of SplashID. New features that I found useful in this version were the ability to email and securely encrypt files to share with other SplashID users auto lockout after 10 missed passwords and a strength indicator in the Password Generator. The information is behind 256 bit Blowfish encryption once you set a password definitely better than a post-it in your wallet any day.[ SplashID is a popular password manager that offers both free and paid plans. SplashID is essentially a home safe for your precious data from your insurance policy numbers Car VIN # Bank Account information to your Credit Card accounts and phone numbers and even various PINs. From there you can set the parameters of what is to be hidden what fields you want defined and then of course what data to enter. The strength of SplashID comes from its ability to allow you to create your own “types” of data. Both services also offer some form of multi-factor or two factor authentication to help keep your accounts safe. Passwords are encrypted using 256-bit Blowfish encryption and can be set to be keep only locally on the device. SplashID comes with some pre-set types of data, which are very useful for quick ideas of how to use this program. SplashID SplashID also offers several layers of protection to keep passwords secure. It may be alphabetic with upper and lower case, numeric, and/or special characters. The main Palm application is guarded by a password that you set which is as strong as you want to make it. SplashID is not just to guard passwords though it excels at that given its encryption algorithms. I especially liking being able to enter data via a full-size keyboard. ![]() In order to sync the desktop application with the Palm application, you must have the passwords guarding the program on both be the same but once you do you can update one and have it update the other. The desktop application has changed and must say I like the new layout immensely and it is incredibly intuitive. I installed the program via desktop installer application, which placed the program on to my Palm and created a desktop application. It is available for a variety of mobile OS platforms: Palm, Windows Mobile, Symbian, Series 60 and Blackberry. I was very excited to try out the new version on my Treo 755p (Verizon Wireless variant). I had previously tried version 3 on my old Treo 650.
